Newspaper Editor and Reporter
I worked as a reporter for several community newspapers in the Los Angeles area and as a community correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. I was the managing editor of the Gardena Valley News. In all, I have published hundred of stories and essays.

Technical Writer
During my 20 years as a technical writer in the hi-tech industry, I wrote user manuals, quick reference materials, data sheets, online help, and web content for a wide variety of hardware and software products. My employers have included Epson America (two years), Xerox Corporation (six years), and Qualcomm, Inc. (four years). My freelance clients have included Hitachi Data Systems, Overland Data, AOL, and Intuit. For more information about my technical writing career, see Good-bye to Technical Writing.

Education
I studied journalism, English literature, and library science at U.C. Berkeley and San Diego State College. I have a bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism from Cal State University Dominguez Hills.

Personal
In addition to writing professionally, I write poetry and have had several poems published in
local and national journals. I enjoy reading, yoga, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, including my two sons and daughter-in-law. I don't miss my television, which died a year
a half ago.
